Organisms exploit resources to persist, compete with other organisms for survival, and sometimes evolve them-selves to adapt to changing environment. In this talk several PDE models from spatial ecology will be discussed,aiming to understand the role of movement in population dynamics. The mathematical findings, partly based on game theoretic approach, are closely related with the biological theory of ideal free distribution.
